Great start. I was wondering if there are any updates planned to this project. I am awaiting for the next update.

Hi!  Yes, we should have an update coming soon.  We've got some blog posts planned that have rolled out of this work on the Silverlight SDK blog. Here's one that went live last week on design guidelines.

I'd like to have exactly the same thing within Blend 4. I'm mostly a designer and I like to build things by clicking :-) All the resources I find about Windows Phone 7 are solutions done in Visual Studio which is fine but with a tool like Blend 4 it seems that it doesn't require a lot more clicking/coding to make a full (small) app by myself.

I need tutorials about how in Blend 4 I can do the complete cycle of creating an app. The design part is documented and done, the data binding is not that clear even if it seems so easy at the same time -drag and drop the data in the screen and edit the look&feel! but then edit xaml and slowly hit or miss- and I want to know how to make the "little stuff" like saving data, retrieving data through different but really standard ways -like asking a MySQL database on a LAMP server- or search through my app created content, that kind of classic things you need in an application. I want controls fully compatible with the tools for Windows Phone 7, controls that are making things even more easier and faster in Blend. I mean, it's kind of freaking crazy how it works well.

I'm close enough with Expression Blend to be able to do what I want that I really want to finish apps with this amazing tool, by clicking and the help of small code injections. If you have up-to-date tutorials, videos to build a small app from A to Z, I'm listening!

Hi Harold,

Providing more guidance about how to build applications using Blend is definitely on our to do list.  In the meantime, have you checked out .toolbox?  Here is a link to their tutorials.

The entire site is focused on how to build applications using Blend.

Thanks for your feedback,

Hi Margaret,

Thanks for your feedback. I did. I completed the Windows Phone 7 tutorials and tried the others but they're not as interesting as they're not focused on Windows Phone. Courses are not specific enough for this platform which is the one I want to develop for. I understand that Silverlight is used in both cases and that the knowledge learned from these courses will be useful for Windows Phone later.

What I would like and need is courses to help me develop small mobile applications for wp7, with a focus on Blend 4.

Thank you,

Have you looked at Jesse Liberty's tutorial series?  http://jesseliberty.com/2010/10/25/the-windows-phone-from-scratch-mini-tutorials-1-getting-started/

He uses blend quite a bit.  There are 32 (and counting) mini tutorials in the series.

Here's the link to the index of the series too.  http://jesseliberty.com/windows-from-scratchindex/

Oh, awesome thanks Margaret!

Doing them right away.
